Although each of us practices in the "real world" of veterinary medicine there is always something new we can learn in our particular field.   And... some of us dream of going into a field that we have a special interest in someday.  There are also those of us who want to expand our existing field or just clarify what that field is, like the Clinical Pathology Techs. 

    Every field has diversification within that field.  Just look at "Large Animal" for example.  That term can mean anything from race horses to cattle to pig farming.  At school they even included chickens in the large animal class just because they were considered "farm animals".
